Change in Financial Year End

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – March 22 , 2005 – New Pacific Metals Corp. ("NUX") advises that it is changing its financial year end from May 31 to June 30, commencing with the 2005 fiscal year which will now end June 30, 2005. The change in the financial year end is being completed in order to align the company's interim financial statements reporting requirements with its Chinese subsidiaries, which operate on a calendar fiscal year end.
